Urodzony w 1928 roku w Świdnicy (wówczas Schweidnitz) Horst Adler, Świdniczanin, historyk, kolekcjoner pamiątek z naszego regionu... Znany jest kręgom miłośników historii miasta z wielu opracowań i wspaniałej kolekcji pocztówek, oraz pamiątek dotyczących historii całego powiatu. Całą, pokaźną kolekcję pamiątek dotyczących miasta Świdnica i okolic, przekazał do w Górno-Łużyckiej Bibliotece Naukowej w Görlitz. Horst Adler zmarł w 2014 roku.
